Capture the Change: U.S. Embassy Ghana Launches Earth Day Photography Contest

To raise awareness about the impacts of climate change in Ghana, the U.S. Embassy has launched a photography contest in advance of Earth Day 2023. The ‘Capture the Change:  World Earth Day Photography’ contest will highlight the impact, potential mitigation, and adaptations Ghanaians, especially young Ghanaians, are adopting to face the climate crisis.

Tackling climate crisis is at the center of U.S. foreign policy and the U.S government is committed towards environmental and diplomatic solutions that foster a healthier planet for all.

As part of the contest, the Embassy is seeking photos taken this year that demonstrate the impact of climate in Ghana, as well as Ghanaians’ innovative approaches to adapting to climate change.  These could include photos of climate mitigation but also business and technology innovations.

The ‘Capture the Change: World Earth Day Photography Contest, commences on March 1, 2023, and ends on March 22, 2023.  The winners of the photography competition will be announced on April 21, 2023.
